Around 150 of the worldís elite will meet outside of Washington, DC this week at the annual Bilderberg Conference, and although the agenda isnít advertised to the public, some sources are already speaking out about what this year might bring.
Officially, the details of each Bilderberg Conference arenít anything its members will go on the record to reveal. According to spectators that have kept a close eye on the eventís happenings each year, however, the annual conference has a reputation for being a kingmaker ó and an elusive and exclusive one at that.

I'm given to understand that prominence will be given in the agenda to sitting around in high-backed leather chairs, in a conference room in a hollowed-out volcano, stroking white cats and laughing a lot.

At least, that's what my invitation says.

Oh for God's sake!

Quote:
agenda |əˈdʒɛndə| noun

1 a list of items to be discussed at a formal meeting.

There's taking a different view of matters and then there's being pig ignorant.

I would rather hear myself what they are talking about, a list is worthless to me in this case.

Then you don't want an agenda, you want an invitation surely?

OK, what did you expect the agenda of the conference to look like?

I had already read the Grauniad 'article', and this bit made me laugh heartily.

Quote:
Later, after Clinton won the election:

"The steering committee of Bilderberg came to Washington in January, and I called the president up and I said 'Mr President, they're here' Ė and he came to the Four Seasons hotel, and the Europeans felt like they owned him because they met him when he was totally unknown."

That's interesting: a meeting of the Bilderberg steering committee at the Four Seasons in Washington? In January? But according to Bilderberg's official website, "Bilderberg's only activity is its annual conference".

Which is a desperate, ham-fisted attempt to catch them in a 'lie', but only serves to illustrate that the author of the article has absolutely no idea about the function of a steering committee.

For the avoidance of doubt, the job of the steering committee will be to set the agenda for the conference. And when you have that many important people in one place at one time, it's probably a good idea if a few people (whose names are clearly available through the website I linked to) get together before hand to decide precisely what themes they are going to talk about, and what order they talk about them.

Or, in other words, set the agenda.

I wouldn't hold my breath for an invitation.

I'm not asking for one, the media blackout is what interests me most.

There is no media blackout. What there is is a private meeting to which the media are not invited.

The former is collusion. The latter is how most meetings are conducted!
