Hidden away in the Episode 14 Idleness discussion, Suse wrote, "I may be making this up, but I think I read somewhere that there actually isn't an XL version of The Immortal Bard."

I notice that the BBC Two QI XL Episode Guide at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00qff3s/episodes/guide#b014sdhw says there will be 16 XL episodes - and then it lists 15 of the 16 episodes (ending with 13/16 Intelligence, 14/16 Idleness and 15/16 Ice) with no mention of The Immortal Bard. This suggests there may be an XL version of the 16th episode - The Immortal Bard.

Does anyone know if there will be an XL version of The Immortal Bard?

If there is, the Beeb in its wisdom, will wish to save it for the Bard's 500th birthday.

Yup, it happened. We enjoyed it - including the rude bits editted from the non XL version!

I watched it and liked the "rude bits" also. (It is on i-player.)

I was surprised that when talking about the theories of authorship of the Shakespeare Plays the name William Stanley, 6th Earl of Derby was not mentioned as a candidate.
