Yes - it's particularly noticeable in the jockey picture, but I like the effect it gives.

Very nice, barbados. I've only encountered that style of picture recently and still haven't got used to the uncanny painting-like quality.

Thank yo Leith. I'm only a beginner at it myself, although I've found that pictures of inanimate things work much better that real life things. I takes a bit of practice, and t is really quite easy to overdo it

I love LB's photo album, especially the first three pictures. Is it a real image, I mean no effect from photoshop or other image software? How did you do it? It's simply amazing :)

Beautiful pics, Starfish and barbados. Thanks again for sharing.

It's going to be a while posting them, but I've got some lovely shimmering beach scenes from Freycinet.

Thank you, it has been heavily editing using a high dynamic range editing. It's taken me a while to get to the stage of being able to produce images like the first one.

It involves taking three pictures altering the exposure between shots. you then merge them together using a piece of specialist software and adjust the end product to hopefully get images like 1 and 3. It can go wrong though, like in image 2. Which although it ends up as one that kind of works, the horse is a little too grainy on some of it and as it should be on others. I could say it was supposed to end up like that, however it is the sharing of the images that is the important thing and it kind of works.

It is however more art than photography, with starfish's permission I would like to have a go with the picture of the Trevi Fountain though, I think I can do something with that one.
