No and yes, purely personal opinion not based on any facts, sounds like how our economy is being run.

Hi; welcome to QI. Also, in the second paragraph of the Physical characteristics section of this link, it seems to suggest that they're right-handed.

Polar bears don't have hands. They have paws.

Thank you Efros and strawberry this is very useful. In fact Sally Carr this is for a project my best friend was doing before she died of a brain tumour and these questions are ones she wanted to discover so I actually wanted to finish the project for her funeral so I'd much rather you thought before you spoke as these days everything isn't for bets but to find knowledge and understanding. I'm not a drunken idiot that does bets I'm 14 years old and have a life to discover I'd rather for you not to be so ignorant!

I'm certain that sally carr meant no slight but just to know if was it to settle a bet about whether all polar bears are left handed, a reasonable assumption as a lot of questions that are asked on here are of the "everyone knows...but is it true" type. If you don't say what the reason is it's hardly reasonable to accuse someone of ignorance when you subsequently introduce, highly emotive, information that was not offered initially.

Well I'm sorry that I was unaware that everyone thinks about bets these days, this day and aged should be ashamed by this. I don't bet my life away. I'm sorry if I didn't do that and I didn't mean any harm I just needed a quick answer so I didn't have much time. I'm sorry so no hard feelings :)

No hard feelings at all.

Frequently friends will disagree on the answer to a question and the phrase "settle a bet for me" is a perfectly standard one when asking someone else to resolve the issue, it certainly does not equate to betting one's life away, money need not be involved, and shame is certainly not required.

As for burping, from what I can find it seems to be more a feature of ruminants but is quote common in other mammals (although rarer in carnivores) so it seems likely that they do, but beyond that I can't say.

Our dog burps quite often and seems to get a fright every time he does it, similarly with escapes from the other end of the beast, although he should be frightened of those.

Completely irrelevent, but my flatmate's tiny cat did a massive fart the other night and scared itself silly. It still makes me lol thinking about it.
