I for one believe Alan to be as stupid as he appears -- which, to be fair, is really not all that stupid.

Not bright, not stupid, just .... average.

Have the Aussies caught up with the shows where Alan wins yet?

If you're meaning series E, than yes, we have seen it, but now they're putting on f**king repeats, and when we finished H, we went back to F.

Interesting to hear your take on things. Yes, I'm from Australia but as we share genetics, I wouldn't say it was a cultural cringe I was feeling!

Cheers

I would just like to point out that I have never shared my genetics with anyone from Australia.

Outside of the show A.D. is certainly not in awe of Stevens knowledge.

As he said in an interview about the show "He doesn't know much, they tell him it all through the earphones".

My personal tutor is an Aussie. I certainly wouldn't object to sharing genetic material with her, but I have a feeling that someone else might be somewhat miffed.

Stephen's treatment of Alan is funny, but also reminds me of bullying behaviour from long ago school days. I feel a confusing mix of humour and bullying sometimes, when watching QI.

They are playing games, in all sorts of ways, surely?

It is no more real bullying than Laurel and Hardy or Arkwright and G-G-Granville.

It's a TV show and they are playing parts.

Speaking as someone who lives in Aus, my experience is that most Aussie fans totally get it.

The way QI is televised here however drives me nuts (shown out of sequence; changing the schedule constantly; grrrr...) and gives me the impression that ABC 'don't' get it...

This drives me insane also! Bit of consistency would be nice, ABC, if you want more people to watch the show especially!
