KY being the abbreviation for Kentucky, "gel" being an alternative spelling/pronunciation of "girl".

Hehe.

Well I was about 50% better than yesterday but I've had an unpleasant afternoon. Back to square ouch.

'Your right leg I like. I like your right leg.

I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.'

Opera; people singing when they should be talking

Rap; people talking when they should be singing

Who said that?

genuine question, heard it years ago, can't remember where.

The best I can do is to note that it appeared in the Mail on Sunday in 1992, which is earlier than I might have guessed.

Who said it in that organ in that year, the source I consulted does not reveal.

A sixty year old ex pink floyd member does not produce POP music.

Edit for typo.

I was pretty sure it spent a short while on some sort of hitparade...
which to me would be the one criterion that makes a song 'pop'.

Apparently - I am wrong. So: what makes a song a popsong?

Edited for annoying spelling error.

'yorz's excellent question has now become a thread of its own - see post 864955. Accordingly, I've deleted a couple of posts in response which had appeared here; they are reproduced in that new thread. QIM.
