I love all those high-carb breakfasts and desserts too. Sadly, can't eat 'em often these days :-(

I used to have semolina a lot when I was living alone. That or a large amount of raw flapjack mixture were my standbys for if I just couldn't decide what I wanted for supper and ended up starving at abot 10.30pm.

A salad sandwich.

Lettuce, tomato, wholemeal bread - my God, we must be having a Summer this year!

Had a chicken and veggie stir fry with sesame oil and garlic, just a dash of soy, some garlic and cracked black pepper. Wish I'd added a bit of chilli now too.

I had salade (various lettuces, finely chopped cheese, finely chopped apple, cherry tomato, green stuffed olives, spring onions, radish) with home made mustard & honey dressing and boiled egg with liberal sprinkling of gomashio (home made).
All on home made sundried tomato/parmesan bread.

I'm rather proud of myself.

What's gomashio 'yorz, and how do you make it?

It's a Japanese condiment which is a mixture of crushed (rather than ground to buggery) roasted sesame seeds and salt. The Japanese sprinkle it onto plain rice.

Indeed. It tastes rather better than it smells. You can sprinkle it on whatever you like. Just try. The roasting and grinding with pestle 'n mortar give a gorgeous perfume.

Ben just brought home a pizza: pepperoni, with a stuffed crust. Not bad.

Since it is a cold, wet night here and Arcanette had a 3 hiur dance rehearsal today, we had lamb, mushy peas and my special mashed potato (with a little garlic in for me).

Plates cleared, both heartily satisfied. Om nom nom.
