Couple of home made cheeseburgers... damn good too. Made all the better by the application of some actual brown sauce.

Toast with a dairy free spread for breakfast.

I made a rice pudding last night, and ate some for breakfast this morning.

Curry flavour rice crackers atm, as I am peckish but cba to do dinner yet. Probably have steak later on, but haven't decided what to have with it.

Some kind of potato would be the norm, mashed, baked or chipped, any would go well with a steak!

I think I'll be slumming it tonight with some beans on toast, it is horribly humid here again and I'm not feeling the urge to do any serious cooking.

Indeed, some iteration of pommes de terre is the norm, but I am trying to restrict my consumption of carbs at the moment, so spuds, (and indeed pasta) are reduced to Plan B. A selection of peas, beans, sweetcorn, and carrots was my eventual choice, all slathered with shop-bought burger sauce which was reasonably pleasant.

We felt the same last night Efros, and resorted to take-out.

Not much better today Jenny, I think it being Friday it may well be takeout here.

Bizarre combination of minestrone soup and fish fingers. Not bad at all, and a pint of cheap Co-op cider to wash it down.

Home assembled pizza as is my usual habit when I have pizza - much along the lines of others I have mentioned this one was specifically pork sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, diced green pepper, oregano and a little bit of extra cheese beyond that on the shop bought thin cheese and tomato base.

It was good; really good.

Pork crackling, some pork carved off the cooked joint I've defrosted, fine beans and mangetout will follow fairly soon.

Had the above with a mustard sauce and either I was hungrier than I'd realised (possible I suppose) or it too was very tasty.

Before my dairy (and oils/fats) intolerances started a few years ago, I did my own pizzas at home too.
Often basic chicken, avocado, mushroom, ham, cheese on top.

Miss it....

Just had a piece of dry toast for breakfast - getting over a stress/lockdown induced IBS attack.

I had some left-over chicken stir-fry (with onions, mushrooms, red pepper and garlic teriyaki sauce) in the fridge so I've just eaten that for breakfast because I need to have a rather late lunch today. I probably won't bother with supper.

We were going to have home made pâté this evening with toast and some cheese and cold cuts. I went to make the pate this morning and it seems I left it too long after buying the chicken livers as they smelt a bit more than a little iffy. Oh well we'll be having something not as interesting from a takeout.

I cooked a large salmon fillet yesterday, so we have cold leftovers to have with salad today. I am contemplating a rice salad - brown rice, chickpeas, peppers and spring onions among other stuff, with a dressing.

A small plate of spaghetti, sliced grilled mushrooms, chopped pepperoni and thyme topped with melted grated cheddar and served with a good sized rasher of succulent English bacon and a little English mustard.

Absolutely delicious but perhaps a little ordinary - I think perhaps I'll try it with 1 or 2 chopped dried apricots per serving next time (which will probably be quite soon) and hope that doesn't clash with the mustard.
