When I click the link I just get the Joe Satriani track, and next up are tracks by the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, which I suspect are more likely to be for me than for you.

The link still goes to the same track listing for me but I haven't listened to much music since I posted it. I'll see if I can find some more tracks for the 20 songs... thread then check again and see if it's changed.

It has; after that the link no longer leads to the same set of songs. Shame.

suze: I can decipher Shine on... but FCH has me puzzled - it's classical unless I miss my guess but beyond that...

Jenny: I quite like both Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles but they appear on my Easy Listening YouTube Mix not the Rock list it generates for me.

Northumbrian pipes played by Billy Pigg, as recommended by Richard Thompson in his autobiography. Excellent stuff.

Richard Thompson played as a session musician with a lot of other people and I've just read about his playing with Martin Carthy on the LP called Bright Phoebus by Lal and Mike Waterson, so I listened to that. It's an album of songs written in the folk tradition but new (OK new in the 70s). I think the original probably only appeals to people like me who enjoy that kind of rough folk singing that Lal and Mike do on the album, but I am now listening to an album of those songs reinterpreted by other people who are much better singers.

I particularly like this version of Red Wine Promises by Richard Thompson himself. Lovely.

A different Rush - Tom Rush - No Regrets. This song was made more popular by the Righteous Brothers' version but I like the original version better. I went to a Tom Rush concert a few years ago, in which he claimed that this song basically put his kids through college.

Stones live at the Marquee 1971, in memoriam Charlie Watts. Verily, he was a once off, in the best possible way.

It astonishes me that Keith Richard is still alive at almost 78 when you see him in that clip swigging scotch straight from the bottle. He must have the constitution of an ox.

Well we all know that on Judgement Day he'll be the one fighting things out with Betty White, no? There can be only one!

Rare appearance here for me, but I'm actually listening to recorded music right now. Old school country and western. Because. Just had a few tracks by Charley Pride, and now George Hamilton IV.
