Men At Work did have a Number One single and album in the UK in 1983.

I'm well aware of that, but given that it was 30 years ago and he wasn't even the lead singer, I'm still somewhat surprised.

It was a massive hit here, and still regularly played on the radio.

I tried to find some half-decent footage of The Band how I remember them, so that would be a few decades ago.
Click.
I'm sure (and hope) that Cel can come up with better material.

I don't know exactly what you mean by footage.

Grooveshark has a few tunes but as its wont, no film.

Sorry - it was getting late. What I meant was, decent quality film&sound material from whatever source. What I could find of that era was not great.
Thanks anyway.

Have to admit, I didn't like the Last Waltz all that much. It's so long ago, I can barely remember it.

I wonder if Ollie Beak and Fred Barker, who used to appear on TV with Bert Weedon, are still alive? Ollie Beak was my childhood hero.

Wally Whyton was the voice of Ollie Beak. And Ivan Owen was the voice of Fred Barker. They are both dead, unfortunately.

Had a moments' panic there when I read that.

I read it as Joss Whedon at first.

Condolences of course to those close to Mr Weedon.

Jack Ashley has died. He will be missed one of the few politicians who had a higher purpose.

Charles Coulson started off working for Nixon and then worked for God. I wonder if he saw that as a promotion or demotion?
