I made one large mince pie. Previous experience tells me that I'm the only one that likes it here. I will be throwing together an apple crisp (sort of crumble for the UK viewers) later.

I have shop-bought mince pies and mini cheesecakes for tomorrow, partly for the purposes of gaining weight as suggested by the dietitian, and partly because f*ck it, it's Christmas!!!

I also made a Black Forest trifle, and we had some of that for dessert tonight.

A crafty style writers clock for a friend of mine.

I scored big time, finding a plain wooden clock at a cheap store, painted it in my friend's favourite colour, then using ideas found online, made each hour a word/heading relating to writing like 'Write, panic, coffee, cry, read, start over' etc.

You probably need to share my specialized interests to get the full effect, but I got tired of the rough and ready way I had my swords and knives displayed, and finally figured out what to do about it. I spent most of the day cutting recesses into the wood, and fitting neodymium magnets behind the blades to hold them in place.

Another 11 swords to do, but it's a long job, so the weekend will be fully occupied.

"Yes, m'lud, it appears that the deceased was trying to turn on the light when the knife became dislodged from its holder, severing his right hand, which resulted in him bleeding to death"

Well it would be an improvement on "The decapitated corpse must have cut himself shaving, m'lud"

Almost finished. Slight problem with my yataghan, but who hasn't?

Without checking I'm trying to figure out if they're in any particular order there criss - but I don't think they can
be.

Maybe if the first two 'round the corner' are part of Knives: by increasing total length and then we move on to
Swords: by date modern to ancient but the one on the far right round another corner I'd guess at being later in
style than some that precede it. What method have you applied to your mania here?

Or is it just that the Great Sword would conflict with the radiator?

I love the idea of a burglar breaking in to crissdee towers and shitting him/herself.
"What kind of psycho lives here?
"Out, now, before we disturb him"

@Cel

Such "system" as I have in place is this;

Anduril (the "Great" sword) is indeed kept away from the radiator. Moving to the left I have the C15 French crusader sword, then my modern repro of a C16 Templar sword, and the SS "mediaeval" parade sword, and the Tower of London Novocentenary sword, all being straight double-edged blades, then the "ninja" katana being straight and single-edged. Then all the curved single-edged blades, 1909 pattern Russian, 1817 pattern Russian, C19 Police cutlass, cheap but nice repro of an indeterminate cavalry sabre. Then the aforementioned yataghan, and the Thai sword discussed before somewhere post 1335944. Round the corner, various iterations of Bowie knives; C19 exhibition knife, Predator repro, Crocodile Dundee style (not "offical repro") Rambo repro, Gil Hibben "Highlander" (came from a movie, but not the one you think*) then finally, mid C20 Sheffield bowie.

*points if you can identify which movie it did come from.
Clue: Springsteen wrote a song about the same story.

I think I need to carry one around with me, and affix it to any door through which I pass.

Photos of my shed-building progress, taken at the request of a friend, but thought somebody might care to see them here. 11 fairly casual days of work to get this far, now waiting on further supplies to advance proceedings.
