I disagree with your comment there, soup, that looks impressive for any ability level. Talented young lad he is!

Trying to head of the FOADers, that tend to leave YouTube comments.

How did you make that, gerontius?

I think it might be cut from a brass stand, one of those you put plants or knick-knacks on.

Yes, I think gerontius grumpus has made a pig of his shelf.

I made it from an old silk purse, no I made it from sheet brass, a bit fiddly as it is only 4cm long. I cut out the rough outline with a tile saw and finished the fine detail with needle files.

And now for a Quite Interesting drink ...

I just produced this on the ULS VersaLASER VLS4.60 LASER Engraver that I have in the garage.

The logo was done in CorelDRAW X4 using a tiny image from the QI web site as a guide. Once the logo was created in CorelDRAW, the resulting design was fed to the LASER and etched onto a Libbey Province 11oz/325ml Rocks Glass. To the computer, the LASER looks like a big flat bed printer/plotter.

The LASER etching process took about 2 minutes using a 50 Watt CO2 LASER.

Note: This is strictly a "one of", made for my own amusement.

I have a glass slightly similar to that, one of a batch given to the QI team a few years ago when I happened to be there for the last recording of a series. Only mine says on it as well: "Never drink water. Fish fuck in it."

I saw some beautiful hand-made jewellery a bit like the brooch gerontius grumpus showed above - I don't want to post a commercial link, but if you search for "Hairy Growler" and jewellery it should come up. I am not responsible if such a search takes you to any other sites you may prefer not to enter. AFAIK he doesn't do vagazzling.
