More photos of the surrounds of where my brother lives. It was an uncharacteristically cool, foggy day, and I love the light up there. The fog in the mountains is so atmospheric, but I didn't feel I captured it well enough. I need to learn how to use my camera better, I'm flying blind most of the time. I'd love to learn how to improve the angle on the shots, and to use the settings right. Eh.

Ooh, you can see where I used to live in that pic. Just behind the base of the statue, on the left hand side of the pic, you can see the halls of residence at Stirling Uni where I lived in my first year.

ASH, Polwarth, Fraser, Murray, Muirhead, Geddes or AKD? I lived in AKD, Muirhead and Fraser.

Water really is that colour, flows from a shale works.

View in opposite direction (I had nothing to do with this photo)

Loch Laggan pic is very nice Leith.

I was up at 4 and out into the wilds this morning hoping for a sunrise shot - cloud buggered that up, but I managed to get a few nice ones nonetheless. Watch this space. Or rather the spaces below this space.

Murray Hall, then back to the chalets in Pendreich Way for 3rd year (excellent as I could get out of bed, dressed, smoke a cigarette and be in the Aquaculture institute labs in less than 5mins), and Spital Hill for 4th year.

Those last two are post 1981, I think the chalets opened in 1982, I seem to remember visiting some friends there after a night in the Grange.

Today I climbed part way up a Down near Lewes in East Sussex. Nice views, though a bit hazy, and I am no cameraman.

West towards Ditchling Beacon

East over Ringmer

A jay or chaffinch, not sure which, who was singing his (her) little heart out!

You're enough of a cameraman to convey the message that life truly can be a bitch sometimes :P

*I mean, all these poor forummers who were today stuck in offices or schools...*

Then he goes left, to the right. Perhaps in a Northerly direction, towards the South.

Looks like a lovely day tetsabb. Nice views indeed.

Sizes apart, if it was singing, then more likely a chaffinch (and a male one if colourful as a jay). Jays occasionally sing, but mostly just caw (being corvids).

Yup I think it was a chaffinch, now I think of it... dunno why jay was even an option -- it was quite wee, and jays have been referred to as "crows in smart clothes"
