Okay this isn't mine but it is by a friend that I was at Uni with some 40 or so years ago. He has just published a book entitled The Birds of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, it's a freebie and can be had on iTunes as an interactive edition here, and a good old fashioned PDF here. he book contains some beautiful landscapes and lots of pictures of the birds of the Nature Reserve. Enjoy.

Maybe a bit tenuous, but if by 'your' you mean 'your friends'' and if by 'blog', you mean 'podcast' then this qualifies ;-)
My friends Jenny and Mike are doing a minute-by-minute podcast on cult classic glam rock film Velvet Goldmine. It has some good pop-culture facts too - in a previous episode they revealed that the drummer from Slade got engaged to Rosemary West in the 90s and was kicked out of the band!
Anyway, today I am guest-hosting, and we talk about Polari! Please check it out if you get chance!

Haven't written for a while but felt the need to today. Just needed to get some words down on electronic paper with all the unusual emotions buzzing around me this evening

Ooh, frantic, just read your blog. :(

Bemad. is finally gaining a little respect for my old plastic stuff as I now have an Instagram account which, although not getting a huge number of views, is being viewed by people with tens of thousands of followers. #teenagerespect #lol For anyone with an Instagram account who is interested to see a load of old plastic, my username is "quaintlyquirky1".
Btw, it's not a selling site. Brilliant place to share pictures of your obsessions with others obsessed by the same thing and unbelievably easy to do. People 'looking' have no access to any of your personal details, just what photos you post, your username and what you choose to put in your bio. Would be great for someone like you, crissdee, with a specific interest.

Anyone wishing to see a video of an elf looking like a rabbit caught in a lorry's headlights might click here, and watch my Unbound crowdfondling pitch: https://unbound.com/books/eat-your-front-garden/

Unfortunately, most of my interesting sharp things are in storage right now, but when I am back in my own place, I might give that a go.

I have to declare an interest here - I think I have already pledged for this book (as I have for several other books published by Unbound, which was founded by QI's own John Mitchinson and Justin Pollard inter alia.) MatC is also one of our elves, as you all probably know. This looks like a fascinating book and I hope it comes to fruition, which is a suitably horticultural way of putting it.
