Me too! And I've suggested a couple of poems for May on your blog page, though I seem to be signed in as portlandfriendsmeeting.

My latest thing is not a blog, or a website, but actual print! I'm now writing for a new magazine which came out yesterday called MyM. I am working as their "Manga expert", writing reviews of manga books and of anime as well.

Congrats! I get a cheap thrill out of seeing my name in print, don't you?

Here's a blog post about a novel my marvelous friend Morgan recently published.

Doesn't anyone who gets their work published?

Congratulations on your new review gig, Ian. You might tell the web designers for that site that it's intensely irritating that the text that pops up and pops down again at the top moves much too fast for anybody to read it, even though the text is actually repeated down the page. Either don't put it there at all, or make it slower so anybody can finish reading the sentence, I say.

Anne - terrific review of that novel. I'd like to read that.

There. The last poems of the school year. And I've used Jenny's name in vain.

Aww - thanks for the name-check :-)

That Taylor Mali poem is fantastic, though I had to search for it as the link doesn't work.

The biography of Patrick Kavanagh is a good brief outline, though it does get the name of one of his books wrong - it's Come Dance With Kitty Stobling, which is also the title of one of the poems in it (one of my favourites of his, as it goes). You can find it here.

I hadn't mentioned in a while because I'm very neglectful, and I have no excuses, so only a few more posts since last time.

I'll try and write a little more often :)

Fascinating stuff, CB - I particularly like the one about the doomed wedding.

That one does seem popular with my friends as well. I was actually reading about the mistress of Napoleon III and was trying to find info about her husband (he was the one killed by his medal).

Weird connections :)

I've recorded a version of the first bit of Handel's Zadok the Priest on banjo, ukulele, washboard and 7 kazoos (well, actually I just used the same one kazoo 7 times, but let's not be picky). Bit late for the Jubilee bandwagon, I suppose, but such is Life.

That last bit really creased me up. Still wiping the tears away.
BRAVISSIMO! BIS! BIS (which I will!)
Mind if I send that link to a few very discerning folk?
