whilst watching the "humans"episode of series H yesterday, the episode mentioned that the total value of the avrege human body is to the value of 400,000-500,000

However, one of the figures set me thinking: it stated that human flesh was sold by 2 dames in Moldova @ 1.30/kg.
this works out to be about 100 (to be precise, 104, assuming a 80 kg man.)

BUT, how much of this 80 kg is comprised of the transplantable organs and bones? if they were to be cut up along with the muscle, the price of the body would certanly drop.

The weight of muscle in the human body is very approximately half the total body weight. Assuming that muscle=meat, about half the body weight would be saleable as meat, with the organs a possibility, maybe if we are talking sausages.

Obviously body fat also adds weight.

If half the mass of the body is comprised of muscle, the other half being comprised of organs that would be better sold as transplants rather than sausage meat I suggest that it would be better to make up for the lost money by selling the blood-

This obviously may prove to be more valuable than the muscle, for the blood's transplant value.

Well the other half is bone, connective tissue, blood and organs. Many organs have transplant value and the blood is also useful for transplants.

Bone could be decoratively carved or ground for fertiliser, and the connective tissue boiled down for glue.

I wonder if the fat might be a viable fuel source?

In 'Silence of the Lambs' he was making a girl-suit. A new opportunity for Ms Westwood perhaps?

I wonder if it's possible to make tallow from the fat
Perhaps that could be sold to the chandlers for a few extra pence
