Ants stretch when they wake up, and they yawn before taking up the tasks of the day.

who the hell found that out?

Can anyone name a fact which is true but completely 'useless'?

There's a famous philosophy question about this.

Two men start a club for 'Useless Facts'. Over the years, the membership grows to the point where it seems that they are being overrun. To counter this, they embark on a rigorous system of checking submitted facts for any trace of usefulness.
Two years later, they decide to disband the club as there have been no new members.

The point being that even gaining entrance to a Useless Facts Club is a use to which a fact can be put, so there is no such thing as truly useless information.

I didn't think I'd get to be contentious this soon after registering but how about Cogito Ergo Sum?

Sleep well, missed your reply by minutes it seems although I thought I'd signed up for an alert on that. Still only 5.05am though.

Horses canine teeth are known as "tushes" according to Hanne E Lynne MRCVS

I was also unaware that dead animals were actually disposed of by a Knacker man at a knacker yard.

We could have a competition to find a truly useless fact and give a prize to the winner. Obviously the winner would then be disqualified as the fact would then have become useful in that it helped someone win a prize.

Ah...but the point is...what is useless to one, may be useful to two or three.
