ΙΧΘΥΣ!!!

KLAXON

Apparently is not correctly!

ΙΧΘΥΣ is iota, chi, theta, upsolin, and sigma, not Ichytos!

It's two different languages mixed up.

KLAXON and Apparently don't mix well.

Maybe apparently is a clue a klaxon is coming?

Maybe I'm wrong about this. It's not Ichytos, it only works with ΙΧΘΥΣ.

Is that better?

I think you're the only person to mention ichytos, everyone else is talking about ichthys

Ok, Efros it doesn't work with ichthys either. And what do mean all the rest? It's only you, Hans and me on this thread.

Do not forget those of us observing the banter waiting to comment.

I didn't say that other people couldn't join this thread, merely that at the time, there wasn't enough people to speak of 'all the rest'. I don't think two people is a very good 'all the rest', do you?

But it does...

I = I
X = Ch
Θ = Th
Y = Y
Σ = S

This is not a case of two languages mixed up but merely two different writing systems; one being the transliteration of the other. Similarly we don't write Ζεύς, Ἑρμῆς or τῆλεφωνή but "Zeus", "Hermes" and "telephone".

But transliteration is mixing up (or changing) two languages.

No, it is not. It's converting writing systems.

This will probably warrant a klaxon, but in the dim and distant past when I was at school, I'm fairly sure we were taught that the fishy symbol was used beacuse the disciples were "fishers of men". Was the acrostic applied/invented later? Possibly to iindicate that there was a Dan Brown style conspiracy regarding the Christians. It's all hidden meanings and symbols.

In that case that klaxon can be heard all the way across the North Sea as well :)
