I've discovered a lot of tombstones commemorating the death of whales-presumably they're too polluting to go in the sea, and I remember a story about a trout (i.e. the fish) being buried the other day. Apparently he spent his spent his life being thrown back by the local fishing population.
Wasn't there something about an arm being buried with a tombstone as well?

Here is the link for whale tombstones-

Apparently Stonewall Jackson's arm was buried with a different tombstone. The arm was amputated in the American Civil War in 1863. Stonewall Jackson didn't live for much longer, but the arm definitely had a separate grave. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_Jackson.

As for dead trout, I have drawn a blank on that.

I've found the article I've been looking for. It's Heather the Leather, a carp, not a trout. A big fish anyway.
