For those with an interest the playlist for the show Hodge-Podge was:

Seeing them written down makes it far easier than trying to guess the theme from the first few tracks whilst in the studio.

I did suggest "Homicide" after the Dead Kennedys started playing, but decided that it probably wasn't a suitable QI subject for a show.

I think I commented on the possible jelly/Jello (Biafra) connection as we left the studio.

There is another new guest on tonight's recording - Chris Addison. The other guests are Sean Lock and Dara O'Briain.

The theme is horrible. Sorry, I meant to write "The them is 'Horrible'."

Hooray! I was listening to a repeat of Chris Addison's Civilisation on Radio7 the other day and thinking to myself "why on earth haven't they booked him to be on QI yet?!" Glad to see the elves' psychic powers are working well.

A very interesting episode tonight.

Firstly, this is being declared by the elves as the 100th episode. I'm therefore presuming that it is a special, but if it is not then the elves can correct me.*

Tonight's theme is "Hypothetical Questions" and the guests were Sandi Toksvig, Johnny Vegas, and... John Lloyd! I'm guessing he will be getting a lot of klaxons.

*By the way, if the elves are reading this, can you tell me if you tell me when you count the episodes, do you count the unbroadcast pilot or not?

The show was actually decided to be our 99th recording, not the 100th episode in the end, not including the pilot. Not sure if it will be transmitted that way, we'll have to see.

Whether we're right or not, well, meh. Though to be honest, if there's anyone who I'd expect to know exactly how many we've recorded it would be Ian. We didn't count compilations by the way.

Right, so not including the pilot and three compliations, that would mean that so far there have been 99 episodes. So episode 100 will be recorded on Friday.

Quick! Somebody get a birthday card!
