COUGH n. A convulfion of the lungs vellicated by fome fharp ferofity. It is pronounced coff.

To COUGH v. To have the lungs convulfed; to make a noife in endeavouring to evacuate the peccant matter from the lungs.

Lblm - I wish I could claim to have coined it, but it is in usage on GUT.

Jack - good question! I believe he's working rather hard for his newspaper at the moment. You could always email him and give him a shove in our direction. I miss him! I'm very fond of Garrick.
