Who cares? Well, obviously I do.

That aside, I've noticed that scores in british game shows mean very little - to the point of not even describing the points as they occur.

That's because it's not winning or losing that matters, but how many knob gags you can make along the way.

American-style game shows are all about the prizes, but QI is a panel game, which means it's basically a 'friendly' (payment by fee instead of prize-money), in these programs you will have recurring guest panellists, it is not unknown for radio panel-games to feature contestants who return regularly for twenty or thirty years. The objective is the banter and silliness, not the winning or losing, which is often an afterthought.

When "whose line is it anyway" first went to the yewsay the network was bombarded with complaints about the unfairness of the points awarded.
