Just a quick note to warn anyone living north of the border who doesn't just watch the XL repeat on Saturdays that BBC1 Scotland have taken the executive decision not to broadcast the half-hour version of Episode 4 of the current series on Friday October 8th. Instead they seem to think the viewing public is much better served by seeing coverage of the Euro 2012 Group I qualifier between Scotland and the Czech Republic.

Presumably the episode will be available on iPlayer for people able to watch it that way. Hopefully the XL repeat will be unaffected, but I'm not in a position to confirm that just yet.

BBC2 Scotland is showing QI XL on Saturday at 21:15 (fifty minutes before it's on in England, so take care not to miss it!).

BBC2 Northern Ireland is not showing QI XL this Saturday though, so viewers there must be sure to watch it on BBC1 on Friday.

I'm confused. If I live on the Surrey-Hants border and wish to see the XL version at what time should I move my shoebag to the lower peg?

And when do we get to watch the XL version in HD?

Another fifty minutes after that, apparently.

I don't really know what HD is though, and it's not available where we live, so I can't get very excited about that.

The iPlayer versions are apparently in HD. Can't say I've noticed any difference.

I'm holding out until it appears in 3D.

I've already seen one of the episodes from this series in 3D.

Blimey! Have updated the home page of this website, though it does make the image rather busy. Bloody BBC (ooer, I've been possessed by bobwilson!)

Pretty good line-up, then.

Quite not-so-interesting fact: I didn't like Dee at first. I've come around to appreciate his comedy due to constant exposure to him via Radio 4.

'Norfolk' -- naughty Mr Dee!
But then 'Basildon' -- naughty Mr Fry!

Another fairly good, but not great, episode. I prefer that sort of guest selection to the rather strange ones where they have people like Barry Humphries, David Tennant or someone else "unusual", because it's just a more consistent episode. I think Jack, Jimmy and Jo work together really well, personally.

I'll give XL a go, but I won't be surprised if I end up turning it off halfway through (As I did with last week's).

Have to say, though, I'm slightly disappointed with the titles. H Anatomy? H Animals? It's cheating!
