Neil Innes was also a member of the 'Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band'. Their song 'I'm the Urban Spaceman' features on a Monty Python sketch with Terry Gilliam and a woman (probably Carol Cleveland but I can't find the sketch).

The band are also well known for their song 'The Intro and the Outro'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DUEAG5eO6c
Apparently, the song originally mentioned Quintin Hogg (the future Lord Hailsham) but he ordered the song changed.

Paul McCartney and someone else. *checks* It was Gus Dudgeon. He produced two Bonzo Dog Band albums as well.

Neil Innes + the Bonzo Dog Band performed in Live at the Hollywood bowl; it was indeed Carol Cleveland.
My favourite songs of theirs are: Ali Baba's Camel, Canyons of your Mind, Shirt, Tent, Hunting Tigers, Sport, My Brother Makes the Noises for the Talkies, Cool Britannia, Mr. Apollo, I'm Bored, plus the two already mentioned: The Intro and the Outro and I'm the Urban Spaceman.

Monster Mash is not their song; it is a cover.

If we're linking the show to Adams, and have Stephen Fry as a link through the film, then we can also have Bill Bailey.
Alan Rickman was mentioned on QI... is that good enough?

H2G2 (Restaurant) was quoted in the first series (second episode):
Quote:
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear, and will be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

The sixth book, And Another Thing... is being adapted for Radio 4's Book at Bedtime. It will be broadcast between 12th-23rd October, and read by Stephen Mangan and Peter Serafinowicz.

There's another 'H' fact I've come across. Geoffrey Hughes is best known for his work on Coronation Street, Keeping Up Appearances and The Royal Family. However, he also was the voice of Paul McCartney in the film Yellow Submarine.

Peter Batten, who did the voice of George Harrison, was arrested halfway through the film's production for being a deserter from the army, and the remainder of George's lines had to be spoken by the actor doing Ringo.

I have seen the film, and read the book.
My mother and sister fell asleep in the film, and the book still entertains me till this day.(though I am 18)
