My Mum stood next to Hugh Laurie in an airport, but didn't ask him for an autograph, becuase he apparently gave her "a look" which told her to not say anything.

I've touched Philip DeFraitas (sp?).

We were at an airport in Spain on holiday once, where our family got split up and in the end Jeremy Paxman was able to sort us out by speaking frantic Spanish.

My mum also had a dressing room at the BBC right next to Paul and Linda McCartney's, many years ago.

Who's your mum Pyreo? She must have some claim to fame if she had a dressing room at the Beeb. Don't feel obliged to share if you'd rather not, of course.

My Mum's cousin (or something) used to teach Darius the piano.
My friend knows Alex Capranos (of Franz Ferdinand)'s mother.
I've met Maxim Vengerov (if getting a CD case signed at a concert amounts to that) :)

The film crew on Chariots of Fire helped my parents set up their tent once. I'd have helped myself but I was only a baby.

My brother once saw the kilted character out of Monarch of the Glen, and apparently he's one of those people who walks with his feet pointing out sideways.

Oooh, Archie?
My friend would be incredibly jealous :p

Oh. I don't think she'd be that jealous then. :)
I don't watch it myself, so I'm afraid I don't know who you mean...

We're practically related, simonp! I was once in an Edinburgh musical with the daughter of the guy who played the Edward, Prince of Wales in Chariots of fire.

I also played a jazz gig in Stroud with the guy who wrote the music for it (those bits not by Vangelis).

Nah, can't really say, sorry. Would give away my secret identity and nobody wants that. Least of all my mum.

It was quite a long time ago, she was just a co-presenter of a little-known show.

I once had dinner with the Rolling Stones' accountant and I was at school with a bloke called Jarman who once danced with Princess Anne.

My grandfather was a hobo who panned for gold in the Yukon for a while. He made a bit of money and went to splash it around in California. Just after the turn of the 20th century, a man in a bar offered him a piece of worthless land for a few dollars but he turned it down. It was called 'Hollywood'...
