This is all quite interesting. We can all agree then, that not every star in the universe is spherical as they bulge at the equator and the surface is not completely smooth for any length of time?

Five consecutive episodes with no unanswered questions.

OK then, I was very confused about the bit with the shark's tooth. Where did that come from, or did I nod off half-way through the episode?

It made sense at the time, I'm sure.

Was it just me, or was it a strange piece of editting. I just remember them chatting away about stuff, then suddenly Stephen's holding a shark's tooth and talking about it as though they've just finished some long discussion about it.

Perhaps I was a little tired when I watched it. Must try watching the repeat on Thursday night.

Well spotted - the shark's tooth was from a question which got cut from the broadcast version, but there was no way into the next question without mentioning it. We confess, it was what Natalie would probably call a bit random.

You see Flash, that's like twice that you've used that. It's catching...pretty soon, the random word will be normality.

Yes, my apologies. That was my fault.

It was a particularly difficult programme to edit and there was just no way out of this particular clunker.

I was watching it with a lot of people in the QI Building and had to cough very loudly as it went by.

Otherwise, though I say it myself, I thought the episode flowed seamlessly...

Thank god. I thought I was suffering from one of those sleep disorders, where you nod off for ten seconds without knowing it and the only way you can tell something odd has happened is because when you wake up England have lost three wickets and/or there's a completely contextless shark's tooth on the screen.

Yeah, I thought I'd been abducted by aliens and lost some time or something.

Then I remembered discussions here about how each show's recording normally lasts about 2 hours and then has to be editted down, so I figured it was something to do with that.

Glad to hear I'm not losing (any more of) my marbles.

Once again, I can only apologise for the ghastly trauma caused.

I didn't notice anything.

I thought he was just producing the teeth out of interest.

I missed it. I remember seeing the sharks tooth. But didn't question why it was there. I just thought, "Oh, a sharks tooth."

Quite. And quite interesting, it turned out.
