Ooh I'll have a proper look at the weekend. We're home educating for the foreseeable future, and mini-swot wants to stick to his school schedule for now. Maybe I can convince him to have a bash at liffs in his English lesson (9am - 10.15am, daily).

An unbelievably bad case of piles.
An (unbelievably bad but) imaginary case of piles, surely?

Although who would send you a caseful of such items, I dread to think.

Well, I was going for unimaginably unpleasant.

Not mine, but a great one given the current situation.

covidiot noun

1. A person who ignores social distancing protocol, thus helping to further spread Covid 19.

Are you seriously going to visit Grandma? Don't be a covidiot.

2. A person who hoards groceries and other essential supplies, needlessly spreading the fears and depriving others.

See that guy with the 200 toilet paper rolls? What a covidiot.

Throcking

The act of deliberately not rounding up figures, for whatever reason;

"We'll have to do some throcking on those readings, they're all too neat."

See also; the house I saw for sale at 999,999 or near offer
or, the book I just read wherein the Min of Ag & Fish estimated the number of cod in the North Sea at 199 million. Because 200 million is clearly ridiculous..........

Throcking has another, more toast-related meaning of course -

Quote:
Throcking (participial vb.)
The action of continually pushing down the lever on a pop-up toaster in the hope that you will thereby get it to understand that you want it to toast something.
Also: a style of drum-playing favoured by Nigel Olsson of the Elton John Band, reminiscent of the sound of someone slapping a frankfurter against a bucket. An excellent example of this is to be heard on 'Someone Save My Life Tonight' from the album Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy.

Preston Candover
The feeling of satisfaction achieved after finally wrestling a dented food tin into submission with a hand operated opener.

Brown Candover
Similar to Preston Candover (q.v.) but with reference to passing a particularly obstinate stool.

Upper Clatford n.
The industry term for a leaky sunroof on a vehicle.

Goodworth Clatford n.
A used car which is in remarkable condition with the exception of an Upper Clatford (q.v.).

Firsdown n.
