Hi everyone. I just registered and so this is my first post.

Im a mathematician, I have a great interest in languages (French and Finnish are my favourite) and my hobby is birdwatching or rather was, as, sadly, I have very little time for that nowadays. I also love football and cricket, supporting Leyton Orient FC (well, someone has to) as well as Essex CCC.

And, of course, I love QI!

Look forward to getting to know all of you folks here. Cheers!

Hey there, welcome aboard.

From what you've just said about your interests, I think you'll find some good things to discuss here, and good people to discuss them with.

Please fasten your seatbelt and keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times.

Thanks for all the further greetings!

As for my favourite composer, I guess its got to be Joseph Haydn if only because I know the keys of all his symphonies by heart. I know, its just one of those things you are proud of even though you have absolutely no use for it in life. In my case, I have thought of auditioning for Mastermind with the symphonies of Joseph Haydn as my specialist subject but of course I realize that I would have to know more than just the keys of 100+ symphonies if I were to be on the show.

And yes, it goes without saying that I have that Decca recording of all the Haydn symphonies by the Philharmonia Hungarica and Antal Dorti. The 32-CD boxed set includes all the 104 numbered symphonies, two unnumbered symphonies (A and B) and the Sinfonia Concertante (which is sometimes considered a symphony although it really isnt one).
