On the back cover it says that Mount Everest isn't the highest mountain in the world. It is the highest in the world. It should read: Mount Everest is the tallest mountain. WRONG!

How do you know, have you measured it, and the other mountains?

Inside the book it says that Everest is the highest mountain in the world but not the tallest. It also says that Olympus Mons on Mars is the highest mountain, but on the back it says that Everest isn't the highest in the world.

I have just found out that it is the pocket edition. I don't know if this is on the original.

I hate dust-jackets on books so I can't check on my copy of the BOGI to see if you're right. However, Amazon does give you the opportunity to view the back of it, and on the normal BOGI the back cover has nothing about Everest. So presumably it is just the pocket version.

Copy and paste the post number in the little box above right of the message box, then click 'link'.

From sea level, Mount Everest is the highest mountain, but from bottom to top, the tallest mountain is Mauna Kea standing at over 10,000 meters tall, (Everest is only 8,848 meters tall)

Mount Chimborazo’s summit holds the record for being the point furthest from the centre of the earth.

I think what joe is getting at is that the back cover says it isn't highest, but inside it says it is highest, but not tallest. Therefore the back cover should say Everest isn't the tallest mountain in the world.

Well you can knock me down with the proverbial feather, but I discover on checking new registrations that joefoxon1's email address is at my old school! I'm glad to see they're still turning out people prepared to nitpick!

Well spotted joefoxon1. That's what happens when you leave publishers unsupervised (although we should have noticed, obviously).

It will be fixed forthwith.
