Well, she's not a man, so she did well.

NATALIE! What are you implying?!
It is an excellent little piece, although, no offence to the esteemed Mr Fry, I couldn't help but wonder whether he was top purely out of coincidence or because QI starts next week.

Dot. I'm being picky. If Stephen Fry was most clever man (whatever the superlative is), and Lisa Simpson, a girl was 8th, that's nothing to be ashamed of.

Oh. Erm. Yes. -shuffles away-

From this weeks Radio Times, with Dylan on the cover.

QI 10.00pm BBC2
The initials in the title stand for Quite Interesting (the whole thrust of this comedic quiz show is that it's better to be amusing than academic), but it could also stand for Quirkily Idiosyncratic. Or Quick-witted Imcomparability. Without doubt the funniest panel show on TV.
The urbane and lovable Stephen Fry is the QI-meister, whose endearing tendancy to call his guests "dear" is offset by his astonishing wit and clever word play, while the panellists this week are Alan Davies, Bill Bailey, Rich Hall and Rob Brydon, all of whom will have you in paroxysms of laughter.
The questions are astoundingly obscure, but then their purpose is really to set up a joke rather than to be seriously answered.

Hang on...what day does it start? Not today?

Wait a sec - is it Rob Brydon or Jo Brand that's a guest?

Zaph- it's Rob Brydon.

kk. I just thought it said on givealandaviesmorepoints it was Jo Brand. But maybe I'm wrong.

That's weird, it does say Jo Brand on GADMP.COM, I'm not sure where Andy got his info from.
Prob should pm him to tell him.

brackett, do you know if the episodes are being shown in the order that they were recorded? That might explain it...

The schedulers usually decide on the order. How they do it no-one knows..........

If anyone wants to help 'spread the love' and link to the QI teaser banner on some QI fan sites, the code is down at the bottom of this page:

Thanks to Ken for the banner!

I think we found out that the stuff we said on the show about how bees buzz by using their spiracles was sweet as honey but had a little sting in the tail, in that it was tosh. Otherwise, excellent banner. How do otters kill crocodiles?

24921.  Mon Sep 26, 2005 11:41 am Reply with quote

According to the QI Database:
The ancient Greeks believed that otters killed crocodiles by scampering into their open mouths, eating all their entrails, and dashing out again when the crocodile was dead.

So there's a possible tosh quotient to that too. But it is quite interesting. :-)
