| How about a Guests episode, where the questions are all related to QI facts about current and past guests on QI - or is that getting a bit meta? |

1) Gods and Goddesses
2) Germany
3) Games
4) Ghosts and Ghouls
5) Green (Colour, environment)
6) Geography/Global
7) Galaxies
8) Gold
9) Gas
10) Gender
11) Greats
12) Genetics
13) Greece
14) Greed and Gluttony
15) General Ignorance
16) Goodbye
By the way, welcome to the QI forums Theblazeuk. |
So I got six episode right this year. I'm getting better at guessing these themes it seems. |

The series will begin sometime in the autumn. It normally starts in early October. |

Watching the Gardens episode last night, I think Alan missed a trick of explaining something and sounding rather clever at the same time.
The reason that police divers were not allowed to remove the Gnome Garden at 50m in Ullswater, that health and safety prevents them from diving to such a depth, is due to the fact that oxygen becomes poisonous around this depth. Most diving organisations limit people to a safe depth where the partial pressure of oxygen is around 1.4bar. At the surface, partial pressure of oxygen is about 0.2bar.
At partial pressures above 1.6 bar, oxygen can cause siezures and death. So divers breathing normal compressed air (which is 21%O2) will start to suffer the effects of oxygen toxicity around 50m. The symptoms of oxygen toxicity are visual and auditory hallucinations, nausea, convulsions and death. |

| That's a good point, I forgot Alan is a diver, he should have picked up on that. |

| It was rather cunning and not a little cruel to put the gnome garden at a point where people might begin to suffer hallucinations. |

| Did anyone else suffer a dip in the volume at the start of the Games episode on Thursday? It happened on the kitchen telly, but that’s got dodgy sound anyway, and I had set the HDD recorder away - but it’s happened on that as well... |

| Yes, the same thing happened to us. The volume corrected itself within a minute or two, but we did have to turn the sound right up briefly. |

| Think I’ll grab the repeat as well - if it does the same thing there, I’ll have to wait ’til the Beeb sees fit to show the XL episode. |
