I know of a Close, a Miller, a Hoddle, a John, and a Quagmire, as well as an American clown with such a name, but I'm curious...any other famous Glenns out there?

There have been at least two people called Gen Glenn.

One was, and still is, a rockabilly artist (whose real name was Orin Glen Troutman)

and the other was the founder of a sound system company:

I believe that John Glenn found a modicum of fame too.

Glenn Campbell, country and western singer, and one of the best twelve-string guitar players ever.

I've just remembered Glen Benton, bassist with Florida death metal band Deicide.

He was (in)famous for branding an inverted cross on to his own forehead back in the early 90's and threatening to kill himself when he reached the age of 33, the same age as Christ when he was crucified. He also named his first-born son Daemon.

All in all, a bit of a tit!

Seems as if he changed his mind when he got to that age...

Blimey, now there's a blast from the past ... I'd forgotten about him.

:)

I went to school with a whole stack of Glens and Glenns. Then there's Glenn Ridge, who was a game show host on Australia's version of Sale of the Century:

Not Glenn Ridge, but that's me on Sale of the Century.

Glen Benton deciding not to commit suicide after all when he reached the age of 33 reminds me of Roger Daltry singing 'Hope I die before I get old' in the 60s. I think he's still singing it now...

In my youth, of course, the saying was 'never trust anybody over thirty'. There's an advert on TV here aimed at baby boomers. It's for a hair product for men that mainly restores hair colour but just leaves a touch of grey. It's sold with visuals of this rather sexy guy in his late fifties (yes, girls, it is possible for that to be the case) saying 'never trust anybody over ninety'. I'm waiting for the next in the series to be 'never trust a centenarian'.

Glenn Frey (singer) and Glenn Swann (gay porn star).

Don't blame me, blame Google.

*Google made me do it*
