I get the impression that jtonks is disputing Aurelius's assertion of what was said?

Can anyone else corroborate this?

Well i have got a half sister who happens to have a danish mother and i go to denmark every year aswell as having lots of scandinavian freinds and i can speak danish.

I think the key word in Posital's post was "else", as in, "anyone else apart from jtonks100".

Under the circumstances I'm tempted to add an insulting suffix, but I shall rise above it.

More accurately:

My transcript for that episode was apparently put up on 19 May 2007 (before this thread was made), using an online dictionary and table of verb tenses (albeit no real knowledge of Danish specifically) -- and I agree largely with jtonks. And will take corrections if my present perfect and/or noun endings are wrong.

Ooh! I didn't know you could do that!

Back on topic: I'm no expert on Danish, but I can't hear the suffixed article Aurelius suggests should be present in Arthur Smith's words.

So maybe Arthur is saying "an anteater" instead of "the anteater", which does corroborate one of Aurelius's points.

No idea - Danish spelling is not a close match for its pronunciation - and of course, Arthur Smith isn't Danish...

Hi jtonks. Just as an FYI name-calling tends to be fairly unpopular around here (not unheard-of, just unpopular) and tends to engender a more hostile response than a simple disagreement backed up by evidence. We do actually have a couple of Danish speakers on this forum I believe.

Interesting, that you have yet to master the use of a spellchecker.
