My husband is currently reading Adrian Mole and the Weapons of Mass Destruction, but I'm not sure I'd class those as children's books since Adrian grew up.

It does, Rory, and I think those are the things that maybe don't interest younger teenagers so much.

No, neither do I. Younger teenagers can't vote and by the time they're my age they've all turned into lefties. It would have happened here, but me and Robbie sufficiently discouraged it by using terms like ''bolshy'' and ''red'' as insults.

I read a book once it involed an RPG and strange things happened in the real world. I know one of the characters was called Shel Lookbehind but I can't remember anything else. I've tried googling it but have come up with nothing. Any help as to what the book is called or the author would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RPG? Rocket-Propelled Grenade, or Role Playing Game?

Role Playing Game. Note the reference to the 'real world'.

Well, given current politics, Rocket Propelled grenade seems a reasonable interpretation of your post.

Children's Bible Stories for kids
Interactive Children's bible stories from NestFamily like The True Story of Noah's Ark
One of the most stunning, unique and captivating books on the account of the Ark and the global Flood of Noah's day ever produced. Based on the account recorded in Genesis 6-9 in the Bible, the narrative is true to the biblical record and its timeline of events conccerning Noah's flood, with added insight as to what it might have been like to be in Noah's shoes.

I regularly sell secondhand books at bootsales, and it's refreshing to know that although Horrid Henry and Tracy Beaker are the favourites I seem to sell out of Enid Blyton quicker than I can get them.

Why does Janice's post seem suspiciously spammy to me? And by 'true to the biblical account' we presumably are not teaching the kiddies that the story of the creation and the flood as outlined in Genesis are literally true rather than a very interesting metaphor/legend*?

And here is something that is unashamedly an advertisement on behalf of a friend of mine, so feel free to ignore this post if that irritates you. My friend Sarah Thompson has just published a fabulous YA book called The Secret of the Rose, set in Elizabethan London and starring Christopher Marlowe among other characters. I am, of course, biased, but I think it's a great read. Not sure if it's published in England yet though.

I think it would make a fabulous movie. |
