Q: Which black American star coined the phrase "I pity the fool"?

F: Mr T

A: Soul singer Bobby Bland.

In this month's edition of Maxim (May 2008) Mr T, aka "B.A. Baracus" has come clean about his infamous catchphrase. He did not invent it, but rather 'borrowed' it from 60s blues singer Bobby Bland.

Bland is often referred to as "The Lion of the Blues" and is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The "B.A." in "B.A.Baracus" stands for "Bad Attitude".

In Italy - his name is P.E. for 'Pessimo Elemento' (roughly translatable as 'Bad Guy');
