What's the source on that? I ask only because I had a quick shufti myself, what with it sounding quite intriguing and all, and I did no better than a statue to the doctor who prescribed the lettuce (Pliny for the lettuce cure, Suetonius for the statue to the medic).

Immediate source is Organic Gardening magazine, May 08, but it seems to be all over the internet too. Whether itís true or not, I donít know ... if so, I would love to know what shape the statue took.

Food - sort of.

Are we aware that there is a creature called the ďBeer-Mat NematodeĒ? I havenít been able to find out anything about it, other than that the name on its birth certificate is Panagrellus redivivus, and that it is the tiny equivalent of a guinea pig - itís the nematode of choice for laboratory experiments, I think because of its tolerance of ethanol.
