Oum or Umm Kalthoum deserves at least a link to explain the phenomenon that she was. Here's a YouTube-link - La Ya Habibi (No, my love).

The largest problem with David Cameron meeting the minister of foreign trade for the Democratic Republic of the Congo would be that he does not exist. Kasongo Ilunga is generally considered to be a creation of Kisimba Ngoy as part of a plan to get the role for himself - he has not yet done this.

Also, check out the (never actually built) Katzenklavier - the keys are linked to hammers, which hit the tails of the cats, creating a mewy sound.

The Katyn Wood massacre, a shameful episode in WWII denied by the Soviets until 1990, despite the evidence.

The Keystone Studios, from which Mack Sennett launched the careers of Charlie Chaplin, Roscoe Conkling "Fatty" Arbuckle, Gloria Swanson, Harry Langdon, Harold Lloyd and the Keystone Kops, all between 1912 and 1917.

Despite only 5% of the Israeli population having been involved, the Kibbutz movement had (has?) an influence far beyond its minority status.

Had. According to my Netanya friend it's been suffering for a while, for various reasons.

One of the world's foremost anarcho-communists, Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin, was born a prince. However, "under the influence of republican teachings," Kropotkin dropped his princely title at the age of twelve, and "even rebuked his friends, when they so referred to him." *

He became a zoologist, evolutionary theorist, philosopher, scientist, revolutionary, economist, activist, geographer and writer.

Lots of QI K-stuff starting here, including the Köppen climate classification, the 34,400 ft deep Kuril-Kamchatka Trench, and the heavily reindeer-dependent Koryaks.

For some period of time the Kelso parish was able to levy a tax of 2 pence on every Scottish pint sold within the town. The power to do this was extended for 21 years in 1802 under the Kelso Two Pennies Scots Act when the money was being used to replace a bridge across the River Tweed that had been destroyed by floods.

The bridge at Kelso was designed by John Rennie who later built London Bridge.

Kwame Nkrumah-Achempong, also known as The Snow Leopard, was the first Ghanaian competitor in a Winter Olympics, taking part in the slalom (alpine skiing) at Vancouver 2010.

Nkruma-Achempong learned to ski indoors at the Milton Keynes snowdome.

His first name, Kwame, means Saturday in the Twi and Akan languages of Ghana (male version of the name; the female variation is Ama). Another well known person with an Akan day-name is former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan (Kofi = Friday). Annan has the middle name Atta, which is given to twins (both of them).

Why there is a rooster on your cornflakes:

Quote:
[Will Keith] Kellogg, the founder of Kellogg's, was entertaining a Welsh musician at his home in the American mid-West. She told him that his name, Kellogg, (which in fact means "kill hog"), resembled the Welsh ceilog, a cock. So the cielog became the Kellogg's cornflakes logo.

From Nigel Lewis, The Book of Babel, Penguin Books, 1995.
