7. Mike Oldfield - Shadow on the wall

From the same album as #3 above. The guest vocalist on this one was Roger Chapman, formerly of prog rock band Family. Mr Chapman has lived in Germany for the last forty years, and he did most of the promotion which ensured that the song was a major hit in German-speaking Europe.

8. The Damned - The shadow of love

I think The Damned had been listening to The Cramps when they wrote this one; there's something of the gothic rockabilly about it. The Damned never actually sold many records in North America, but this one was big on campus radio, as was their cover of Eloise.

One final thought on my list, two lists back, for GuyBarry:

the list started on: Sat Jan 26, 2019 5:50 pm
the list ended on: Wed Jan 30, 2019 11:51 am

Just wishing to expressly note, that your/his fear of a drawn out thread killer seems a tad overanxious in hindsight.

Guy wants to impose rules again. Since I started this thread many moons ago, several times a topic just grounded to a halt, and was picked up way later, with a new topic. No fixed time limits. Things tend to resolve themselves.
At the start, only 10 songs were required, but that soon proved to be not enough - people didn't have time to add their own choices as a new topic had already started.

I personally find having half the discussion here and the other half in another thread quite disruptive. If were discussing this thread why not discuss it here?

Perhaps you should start a separate thread on the most appropriate place for diuscussions about the most appropriate place to ask questions on the appropriate contents of a thread?

It's typical that over the years this thread has been entertaining us, it's only GuyBarry who has any problems with it.
Nobody says that a topic SHOULD have 20 entries; that's only the maximum.
If it stalls, by all means post another of your gems. Don't sit n the sideline fuming and getting frustrated. Lunacy.
If you think people have run out of steam and you don't know any more relevant songs, start another topic. If it's a busy week (christmas or whatever) people will be otherwise occupied. Just leave it. Relax. I know you don't like the word, but anal is the only appropriate word to describe this mindset.
