I bet it doesn't have all the gifts, just the ones he doesn't want.

Where do they get the exhibits ...?

It's basically the work of one man, who has been collecting penises for some years and decided to set up a small museum by his home. It's in the middle of nowhere - Húsavík is about as far from Reykjavík as Iceland gets and has a population little more than 2000.

The proprietor's mission is to display a penis from every mammal that lives in Iceland. There is a notable omission at present - homo sapiens - but apparently a man who is not yet dead has promised one upon his demise.

Ooh I am!

One of my ambitions is to visit the Chester Museum of Salt. Everytime Hubby has some time off I suggest we take a drive up to Chester...so far no luck.

Quite a lot of museums which may at first seem odd actually reflect the importance of a particular industry to a town. Hence the chair museum in High Wycombe as the town was once famous for furniture making. High Wycombe's football team is nicknamed The Chairboys. Similarly, there is a leather museum is in Walsall and a lace museum in Nottingham.

There's a museum dedicated to bricks in Kyoto, Japan.
The urban legend associated with it is that there are no brick buildings in Japan, like nobody is mummified in Britain. Hence, British museums have mummies in, Japanese museum has bricks.
Totally untrue. It's just a random museum about bricks, and has been there since the early 20th century.

Here's that list again, with more detail.

robert - this page is linked from the page I found the list you 'created' of unusual things found in London Transport's lost property.

For future reference, at least pop your sources (or should I say 'source') in your posts, rather than attempting to pass other people's hard work off as your own.

Unless, of course, this is some form of elaborate spam...

We mustn't forget this one:

Museum of Menstruation and Women's Health
http://www.mum.org/

Though it doesn't physically exist at the moment. A shame.
